… a different skill set
Started with a bartending job.
Over the years that followed...
managed nightclubs and bars,
directed entertainment,
designed marketing,
created sound systems
As DJ, played 18 clubs
five nights a week
2,500 performances.
20 years in the Industry
good times...
One thing still left to do
NomadNightClub, the bar
all kinds of music
all kinds of people
So, we set out late in 2019,
to preview a music concept,
test, develop, get feedback,
meet people, gather awareness…
2020 life had other ideas
Until we find 'the place’...
we wanna’ explore new ideas
add live performance,
various DJ’s & Selectors,
provide excellent music
eventually food and drink
A place where nomads
feel at home.
Collaboration...
let's see what we can do together.
James "JK” Harper
SELECTOR or DJ
INTENTIONAL LISTENING
SONG SELECTION & PROGRAMMING
For 12 years of my life
I played music for a living
mixing one song into another
mostly dance music, mostly vinyl
I was in love with it and traveled
… just to do it
In 2020 the world was interrupted
found time to listen
rediscovered records and music
all genres, eras, tempos, rhythms
the entire song, intro to end.
Programming took a new direction
toward a different kind of DJ...
a Selector.
it's about song selection
It's about content over context.
We’re propagating something
a new style of playing music...
for listening and dancing
Selections not confined...
by tempo or era or genre
Creating a music environment...
a conversation, a connection.
Not just dance music...
more music, a vibe.
puts you in the past...
puts you in the moment.
fresh and unexpected
It'll, elevate your spirits...
put a smile on your face...
You'll "feel" like dancing.
